Profile: Brothers Ken and Darren Flagel started as most who make syrup do with a 5 gallon pot on a turkey fryer. And once bitten by the "Maple Bug" we have sought out more taps, bigger pans, faster evaporation rates, and soon it becomes a hobby gone wild. Being Plumbers by day, the maple season fits in well during our slow time, and we hope to make it a part time occupation. We now have a 21'x21' sugarhouse with a 3'x10' wood fired evaporator and separated kitchen. With 400+ taps in roadside trees.
