MAPLE IDEAS

Fill the hollowed center of an apple with maple syrup and bake it as usual -one of the best of the heavenly maple-apple combinations.

Grate maple sugar over hot buttered pancakes. Delicious!

When measuring maple syrup, use the cup in which you've just measured the shortening, and not a drop of the precious sweetening will be wasted.

Delicious Maple Milkshake: Whirl together until frothy 2 cups of milk, 1/3 cup maple syrup and 1 pint softened vanilla ice cream. Serve at once. Makes 4 glasses.

Hot Party-Bread in a Hurry: Put 1 Teaspoon of maple syrup in the bottom of a buttered muffin cup. Top with a refrigerated ready-to-bake biscuit round, and bake as usual.

Add a little maple syrup to the milk and egg when making French toast: the toast will be a beautiful brown and have unexpected flavor.

Holiday eggnog sweetened with maple syrup is deliciously different.
