Pre-Conference Board Meeting -January 22, 1999

The meeting was called to order by President John Anton at 7:20 PM.

After the minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as published in the newsletter, there was a review of plans for the conference on the following day. The Treasurer's report was given and accepted.

Larry Haigh recommended that the new "Michigan" stickers and the MMSA stickers both be sold for $5.00 per roll. This was unanimously accepted. It was moved by Brian Vissers and supported by Larry Haigh to increase the travel stipend for Mary Douglass, our IMSC representative, to $200.00 per year. This was passed unanimously.

Bill Motz, the featured speaker for the conference, then addressed the group and led a discussion about the project his class conducted for MMSA

Mary Douglass, chair of the Legislative Committee, moved that we ask Sen. Seitel, Ottawa County, to sponsor a bill cleaning up our "adulterated syrup" legislation. The current legislation references a Federal law that was repealed. This was passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Brian Vissers, Secretary
