Post-Conference Board Meeting -January 23, 1999

The meeting was called to order at 4:40 PM and Russ Kidd opened the floor for nominations to Board Offices. The following offices were filled as indicated:

President -John Anton
Vice-President -Marv Besteman
Secretary -Brian Vissers
Treasurer -Larry Haigh
IMSC Delegate -Mary Douglass

The following dates were established for future meetings:

Spring Board Meeting -May 13, 1999
Fall Tour -September 25, 1999
40th Annual Meeting -January 22, 2000

New chairs were appointed for the following committees:

Fall Tour -Craig Arnold
Syrup Contest -Steve Youdes
Historical -Jean Maday (This is a new committee and answers many concerns the Board has had over loosing the history of Michigan Maple).
In addition, Craig Arnold was asked to serve as special liaison to the Newsletter.

David Shafor, of Shafor Systems, gave the Board a presentation on what his company can do for MMSA in terms of Web-site maintenance.

Douglass moved and Arnold supported to formally make the Board President and the Board Treasurer our bank signatories.

A discussion was held about creating a new MMSA cookbook. Jean Maday volunteered to chair the project and the Board decided to order another printing of cookbooks and "It's Spring" brochures to supply our members until the new cookbook is completed.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:00 PM.
