MAPLE SYRUP & CANDY CONTEST RESULTS

The Maple Syrup and Candy contest was held at the Annual Meeting in Clare in January with 36 entries. The syrup was judged on Density, Color and Flavor. Ribbons were awarded to First Place winners and a Plaque was awarded to the Best of Show.

The winners for syrup were-

Light Amber -First Place Winner -Larry Haigh
Medium Amber -First Place Winner -Coe Emens
Dark Amber -First Place Winner -Fred Bates
Best of Show -Medium Amber -Coe Emens

There were 4 entries for Cream and Sugar and the winners were-

First Place-Cream

Some of the participants in the syrup contest are asking about the "Blue Ribbons" that were mailed out following the January meeting. They are for the syrup that is marketable. They were judged on density-color-flavor, some were disqualified because of mold.
