MAPLE SYRUP & CANDY CONTEST RESULTS FOR 2001

The Maple Syrup and Candy contest was held at the Annual Meeting in Clare in January with 28 entries. The syrup was judged on Density, Color and Flavor. Ribbons were awarded to First Place winners and a Plaque was awarded to the Best of Show.

The winners for syrup were-

Medium Amber-First Place Winner-Terry DeLoughary
Dark Amber-First Place Winner-Terry Coleman
Best of Show-Medium Amber-Terry DeLoughary

There were three entries for Cream and Candy and the winners were-
First Place-Cream
Joyce Haigh
First Place-Candy
Terry Coleman

Some of the participants in the syrup contest are asking about the "Blue Ribbons" that were mailed out following the January meeting. They are for the syrup that is marketable.
