A Train Ride To Nova Scotia Join us for a trip to Truro, Nova Scotia for the 2003 North American Maple Syrup Meeting in October. Dates are October 20th thru October 27th, 2003. Those of us who attended the one this past October can assure you it will be a fun time. The best part of the trip was getting to know other MMSA members better. We will be leaving from Windsor, Ontario train station on October 20, 2003 at 6:00 AM and arriving in Truro at 2:39 PM October 21st. Because of the train schedule we need to travel on the 20th. The price listed below does not include lodging on the 19th in Windsor. I will be getting a list of motels and will try to get a group rate once I have confirmed the number of people going and rooms that will be needed. Our return train is scheduled to arrive in Windsor at 11:01 PM on Monday, October 27th. Once again, if the interest is there I will arrange for a group rate at a motel for that night. To get the following group rate, we must have a minimum of 20 people. It will include round trip transportation, 2 nights lodging on the train, all meals and beverages (except alcoholic) on the train between Windsor and Montreal and an continental breakfast on the train between Montreal and Truro. A deposit of $100 per person for the train trip needs to be sent to me no later than April 20, 2003. Our train tickets must be booked shortly after that date to ensure sleeping quarters on the train. I was originally given a date at the end of January for booking. Final payment must reach me no later than September 1, 2003 so I can make final payment for the train. Unlike other years, these deadlines are set in stone due to having to book the train and once again traveling dining the fall season. Rates are $477.83 per person. Senior rates - 60 and over - are $429.56 per person. This is based on the exchange rate of this week - January 16th If you plan on traveling with us - get your deposit and forms to me ASAP.
