Information on Member Listings

 We are ready to launch an online directory of companies that constitute Michigan’s maple industry, and we invite each member of the MMSA to participate. This will be a great opportunity to advertise Michigan maple syrup to the world and to open new markets for our members to sell their maple products, supplies, and equipment.

 To be eligible for a directory entry, you must be a current, paid member of the MMSA. A basic directory entry is currently $20 per year and will place your company name in any of the alphabetical listings you choose, along with a contact name, postal address, phone number, and e-mail address. Page layout requirements and available space on the average computer screen will restrict the information to these five elements for basic directory entries.

 For an additional $30 per year, we will enhance your company name to stand out on the page and add a link to send visitors directly to your own Web site. If you do not have a Web site, we will create a Web page for you right within the MMSA site using marketing information you provide in a special area on the signup form. Your entry will link to this page, which will give you the same opportunity as everyone else to display information about your company, products, location, hours, etc. on the World Wide Web.

 In the beginning, Web site visitors will be able to list maple industry companies in three different categories. The options to browse Maple Retailers, Maple Wholesalers, and Equipment & Supplies Dealers will be available right on the home page (www.MI-MapleSyrup.com/Contents.htm). You may sign up to be listed in as many of these categories as you want, depending on the type of customers your products target. There is no extra charge to appear in multiple listings.

 [OPTIONAL – For now, we are offering only the two entry formats (Basic and Enhanced). Later on we may reserve a section of special prominence at the top of each list for “Sponsors” willing to contribute something extra to the organization. We would also like to hear your suggestions as to what kind of “extra” contributions would qualify a company for such a distinction. Service, research, and financial contributions come to mind…]

 IMPORTANT: The official response to inquiries regarding availability of syrup and supplies will be to direct individuals to our Web site listings. To protect the privacy of our members, it is MMSA Board policy to keep the complete membership list unavailable to the general public. Referral to the online directory also eliminates any concerns about whose name is given out or advertised to those seeking information. If you wish to have your name given out as a syrup or equipment source, the Web site listing is the sanctioned way to do it. Remember, the lists of maple industry participants will be available directly from the home page of our Web site (www.MI-MapleSyrup.com/Contents.htm).
