Helen M. (Bird) Fogle
Mason, MI

Helen M. (Bird) Fogle Mason, MI, Loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006. Helen was born to Arthur and Myrtle (Godley) Bird in 1919 in Millersburg, MI and was educated in Dansville. She married George Fogle in 1945, and made her home with him on the family dairy and maple syrup farm in Mason, MI. Helen was active as a volunteer in her church, Mason General Hospital, Ingham Co. Medical Care Facility, and 4-H programs. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George, and six children: Barbara (Douglas) Mercer of Byron and children Todd (Twilla) Mercer (Erica, Emily), Andrew Mercer, Megan (Wyl) McCully and Laura Mercer; Joyce Fogle (Rod Harwood) of Bartlesville, OK and children Anne (Keith) Bormann (Garrick, Tristan) and Karen Harwood; Carol (Ron) Grant of Kalamazoo and children Heather (Joe) Syrowik and Brian (Jessica) Grant; Donald (Judy) Fogle of Mason and children Lisa (Paul) Sachs, Amanda (Matt) Jones and Duke Fogle; Rick (Debbie) Fogle of Mason and children Karly and Samantha Jo Fogle; Mary (Greg) Douglass of East Lansing and children Kayla and Drew Douglass; sisters, Asenath Blood of Mason and Mary Geisinger of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Jean (Bob) Leonard of Laingsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, May Holmes and Emily Rowell. Cremation has taken place. Helen's family will receive friends and extended family on Saturday, April 8th, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 9th 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Sunday, April 9th at 3:30 p.m., followed by a light meal. Visitation and the celebration will take place at University United Methodist Church, 1120 South Harrison Road, East Lansing. Those wishing to remember Helen may choose the Helen Fogle Charitable Trust at MSU Credit Union or a charity of their choice.
